Description:

The primary focus of this course is counselor self-awareness. In self-awareness, we recognize our own attitudes and beliefs, and we understand how these attitudes and beliefs influence our thinking and interactions with others. Explore your own cultural self-awareness by analyzing case studies featuring people who are part of underrepresented groups. Refine your skill of incorporating data into decision-making and action, as you increase your awareness of attitudes and beliefs and develop knowledge about underrepresented individuals. The Multicultural and Social Justice Counseling Competencies are critical when working with people with disabilities who are also part of underrepresented groups. CRC and CVE credit.
